Jesus Always

I have good intentions for you. They may be radically different from what you hoped or expected, but they are nonetheless good. I am Light; in Me there is no darkness at all. So look for My Light in all your circumstances. I am abundantly present in your moments. Your assignment is to be open to Me and My ways with you. Sometimes this requires relinquishing things you had planned or dreamed. You need to remember and wholeheartedly believe that My way is perfect, no matter how hard it is.

I am a shield for all who take refuge in Me. When you’re feeling afflicted or afraid, come to Me and say: “Lord, I take refuge in You.” I don’t shield you from things I intend for you to deal with, for you have an important part to play in this world. However, I protect you from more dangers and troubles than you can imagine. So make every effort to live the life I have assigned to you. Do this in joyful dependence on Me, and your soul will be richly satisfied.

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
— 1 John 1:5

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
— Psalm 18:30

Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him.
— 1 Corinthians 7:17

My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
— Psalm 63:5

Morning Prayer

Psalm 86:5; Proverbs 28:13; Hebrews 8:12; 1 John 1:9

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You Today

I pray that you will approach God’s throne of grace, and confess and renounce any sin to the Lord. May you allow God to purify you from all unrighteousness. May you be confident that the Lord will forgive you, and will remember your sins no more. I pray that you will experience God’s mercy and the abounding love He has for all who call Him.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Eternal Perspectives

We’ll experience all the best of human relationships, with none of the worst. The burdens and tragedies of life will be lifted from us. We’ll be free of what displeases God and damages relationships. No abortion clinics or psychiatric wards. No missing children. No rape or abuse. No drug rehabilitation centers. No bigotry, muggings, or killings. No worry, depression, or economic downturns. No wars. No unemployment. No anguish over failure and miscommunication. No pretense or wearing masks. No cliques. No hidden agendas, backroom deals, betrayals, secret ambitions, plots, or schemes.

Live Loved

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

~ PSALM 84:11

Worry or God’s Word?

God says: “Every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good” (Romans 8:28 MSG).

Worry takes a look at catastrophes and groans, “It’s all coming unraveled.” God’s Word says, “[God has] done it all and done it well”
(Mark 7:37 MSG).

Worry disagrees: “The world has gone crazy.” God’s Word calls God “the blessed controller of all things”
(1 Timothy 6:15 PHILLIPS).

Worry wonders if anyone is in control. God’s Word declares, “God will take care of everything you need”
(Philippians 4:19 MSG).

Worry whispers this lie: “God doesn’t know what you need.” God’s Word reasons: “You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?”
(Matthew 7:11 MSG).

Worry discounts and replies, “You’re on your own. It’s you against the world.” Worry wages war on your faith.

O Lord, your Word declares your power to provide and your might to move on our behalf. When it seems like the world has gone crazy, your Word assures that you are still in control. You know our needs even before we do. You are working every little detail in our lives into something good. So rather than look at the chaos and confusion of life with an attitude of worry and doubt, we honor you with an attitude of firm faith. We will face the future with confidence and peace, amen.

He has put a new song in my mouth—praise to our God.
~ PSALM 40:3

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”
~ JOHN 15:11

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
~ JAMES 1:2–3

Eternal Perspectives

There is undoubtedly an inconceivably pure, sweet, and fervent love between the saints in glory. . . . For all shall have as much love as they desire, and as great manifestations of love as they can bear. And in this manner, all shall be fully satisfied. And where there is perfect satisfaction, there can be no reason for envy. And there will be no temptation for any to envy those that are above them in glory, on account of the latter being lifted up with pride; for there will be no pride in heaven.
~ Jonathan Edwards, [Heaven: A World of Love]
