THE FUTURE IS ONE OF THOSE SECRET THINGS beyond your domain.

Release it to Me, the rightful Owner. Refuse to worry about the future, and you will find your resources for today quite sufficient. Remember that I am part of those resources and nothing is impossible with Me! The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.  ~DEUTERONOMY 29:29 ~

Dear Jesus

Whenever you are tempted to grumble, come to Me and talk it out. As you open up to Me, I will put My thoughts in your mind and My song in your heart.

Dear Jesus,

I am frequently tempted to grumble—more often than I like to admit. There are so many things I would like to be different: in me, in others, in the world. My natural tendency is to brood over these matters, rather than talking them over with you. The longer I focus on these negatives, the more likely I am to grumble. Even when I control what I say out loud, my thoughts tend to be full of complaints. Please help me to think Your thoughts.

Beloved, trust Me by opening up to Me consistently. Don’t wait till you’re already discouraged to bring Me your concerns. As we talk about these matters, remember to thank Me. In spite of how you’re feeling, you can thank Me for listening and caring; also, for loving you sufficiently to die for you. Your thankfulness will provide a helpful framework for viewing the things that concern you. Talk about these concerns with Me. Let the Light of My Face shine upon you, as we discuss these matters. Eventually, this heavenly Light will break through the fog in your mind, enabling you to see things from My perspective.

Your communion with Me will bless you in another way also: You will find in My Presence irrepressible Joy. Whether or not I change your circumstances, you will discover I have put a new song in your heart.

I Am Calling You To Live In Joyful Dependence On Me

I AM CALLING YOU TO LIVE IN JOYFUL dependence on Me. Many people view dependence as a despicable condition, so they strive to be as self-sufficient as possible. This is not My way for you! I designed you to need Me continually—and to delight in that neediness. When you live in harmony with your Creator's intentions for you, you can maximize your potential and enjoy your life more.

The apostle Paul exhorted Christians to be joyful always and to pray continually. There is always Joy to be found in My Presence, and I have promised I will not leave you or forsake you. So you can speak to Me at all times, knowing that I hear and I care. Praying continually is a way of demonstrating your deliberate dependence on Me—the One to whom you pray. Another powerful way of relying on Me is studying My Word, asking Me to use it to transform you through and through. These delightful disciplines help you live in joyful dependence on Me. Delight yourself in Me more and more; this increases your Joy and glorifies Me.

Be joyful always; pray continually.

WALK IN THE LIGHT OF MY PRESENCE

WALK IN THE LIGHT OF MY PRESENCE— rejoicing in My Name all day long, exulting in My righteousness. This world is increasingly dark, but the Light of My Presence is as bright as ever. In fact, My Glory shines more vividly against the dark backdrop of evil. When Christlike goodness collides with worldly vileness, be on the lookout for miracles! This collision of spiritual opposites creates atmospheric conditions that are conducive to My powerful interventions.

No matter how difficult your circumstances may be, you can still rejoice in My Name. The essence of all that I am is distilled into this one word: Jesus. You can use My Name as a whispered prayer, as a praise, as a protection— and it never loses its potency. Even in the darkest situations, you can exult—rejoice jubilantly—in My righteousness! Nothing can tarnish this righteousness, which I have woven into shining garments of salvation for you to wear forever. This is how you walk in My Light: by making full use of My holy Name and by wearing the robe of righteousness joyfully.

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD. They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness.

I Call You To Lead The Life That I Have Assigned To You

I CALL YOU TO LEAD THE LIFE THAT I HAVE assigned to you, and to be content. Beware of comparing your situation with that of someone else—and feeling dissatisfied because of the comparison. It is also harmful to compare your circumstances with what they used to be or with fantasies that bear little resemblance to reality. Instead, make every effort to accept as your calling the life I have assigned to you. This perspective helps take the sting out of even the harshest circumstances. If I have called you to a situation, I will give you everything you need to endure it—and even to find Joy in the midst of it.

Learning to be content is both a discipline and an art: You train your mind to trust My sovereign ways with you—bowing before My mysterious, infinite intelligence. You search for Me in the details of your day, all the while looking for good to emerge from trouble and confusion. You accept the way things are without losing hope for a better future. And you rejoice in the hope of heaven, knowing that indescribably joyful Life is your ultimate calling!

Let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. This is my rule in all the churches. —1 Corinthians 7:17

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. —Philippians 4:12

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! —Romans 11:33–36

Jesus Calling

I AM THE GOD OF ALL TIME and all that is. Seek Me not only in morning quietness but consistently throughout the day. Do not let unexpected problems distract you from My Presence. Instead, talk with Me about everything, and watch confidently to see what I will do.

Adversity need not interrupt your communion with Me. When things go “wrong,” you tend to react as if you’re being punished. Instead of this negative response, try to view difficulties as blessings in disguise. Make Me your Refuge by pouring out your heart to Me, trusting in Me at all times.

Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.

I Give Strength To My People

I GIVE STRENGTH TO MY PEOPLE; I BLESS MY people with Peace. “My people” are all those who trust Me as their Savior-God. My death on the cross for your sins was sufficient to provide everlasting Life because I am truly God. So rest assured that the One who provides eternal Life will also give you strength.

When you are feeling weak, don't waste energy worrying about whether you can cope with the challenges you face. I know better than you what is on the path before you, and I stand ready to help—every step of the way. Having bought you with My own blood, I have a huge vested interest in you.

Because you are Mine, I want to bless you with My Peace. The Peace I give you is not as the world gives; it can coexist with the most difficult situations because it is transcendent. It rises above both your circumstances and your understanding—and it can lift you up too!

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.

The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
