Jesus Calling

I HAVE ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED the greatest miracle—saving you from your sins. The next time you face an “impossible” situation, turn to Me immediately with a hopeful heart. All things are possible with Me!

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
~ MATTHEW 19:26

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

Before You Turn Out the Light …
Be courageous—“impossibilities” are My specialty!

Jesus Always

Let My Peace rule in your heart, and be thankful. And let My Spirit help you in this challenging endeavor. The Spirit lives in you, so His fruit—Love, Joy, Peace—is always accessible to you. A simple way to request His help is to pray: “Holy Spirit, fill me with Your Peace.” Try sitting in a quiet place until you feel relaxed and calm. When you are thoroughly relaxed, it is easier to seek My Face and enjoy My Presence.

While you rest in My Presence, take time to thank Me for the many good things I give you. As you focus on Me and My bountiful blessings, let your heart swell with gratitude and even leap for Joy. One of the most precious gifts imaginable is My robe of righteousness—to cover your sins. This glorious garment of salvation is a priceless blessing for all who trust Me as Savior. The gift of eternal righteousness, purchased through My blood, provides a firm foundation for both Peace and Joy.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
~ Colossians 3:15

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
~ Galatians 5:22–23 [NKJV]

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
~ Psalm 28:7

I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
~ Isaiah 61:10

Renewing Your Mind

I redeem you from hell—crowning you with Love and mercy; I wrap you in goodness and renew your youth. I delight in giving you these marvelous gifts because I take pleasure in you. Let My delight in you sink into the depths of your being. This satisfies your soul as nothing else can. Although I see your sins and flaws, my perfect Love for you never wavers. I see you first and foremost as My redeemed one—wearing a paradise crown and wrapped in beauty eternal.

I want your identity as My beloved to be front and center in your mind. However, your thoughts often get stuck on trivial matters, especially when your mind is in neutral. This is why I urge you to be alert and always keep on praying. In fact, praying is one of the most effective ways to keep your mind well-focused. As you face your circumstances here and now, invite Me to enter into them. Bring Me whatever you are doing, thinking, feeling; stay in conversation with Me. This will help you focus not on trivial matters but on glorious realities. While you commune with Me, I will renew your strength. No matter how old you are in years, you’re always young in My Presence!

He redeems you from hell—saves your life! He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown. He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal. He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence.
~ Psalm 103:4–5 [MSG]

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.
~ Psalm 149:4 [NKJV]

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
~ Ephesians 6:18

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
~ Isaiah 40:31 [NKJV]

Jesus Always

I am the Lord of Peace—the only source of genuine Peace. I give you this gift, not as something separate from Myself, but as part of who I am. You cannot just grab this blessing on the run. You need to set aside time for focusing on Me and enjoying My Presence.

You live in the midst of intense spiritual warfare, and My Peace is an essential part of your armor. To stay on your feet during the battles, you must wear sturdy combat boots—the Gospel of Peace. This good news assures you that I love you and I am for you.

Many of My followers forfeit Peace because they think I am always scrutinizing them through critical eyes. On the contrary, I gaze at you through eyes of perfect Love. Instead of punishing yourself when you’ve failed, remember that My death on the cross covers all your sins. I love you with unfailing Love—simply because you’re Mine! Rejoice in this Gospel-Peace; it is yours to enjoy at all times and in every way.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
~ 2 Thessalonians 3:16

. . . And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.
~ Ephesians 6:15 [AMP]

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
~ Romans 8:31 [NLT]

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
~ Psalm 90:14

Dear Jesus

Because you are human, you will always have ups and downs in your life experience. But the promise of My Presence limits how far down you can go.

Dear Jesus,

I have a hard time accepting the downs in my life. I tend to feel like a failure at such times. It comforts me to realize this is simply part of being human. When I’m really feeling down, it’s almost impossible to remember the Joy of Your Presence. So when You are absent from my emotions, I cling to the promise of Your Presence.

Beloved, I assure you that I can bring much good out of the times in your life when you are sad. These painful times teach you to depend on Me more fully, as you seek My Face for help and strength. I have blessed you with many joyful experiences as well, but you must not cling to them or try to make them permanent. Rather, hold them lightly ~ with open hands ~ enjoying the beauty of the moment. Thank Me for what you are experiencing, and your gratitude will increase your Joy. Be willing to release the pleasures to Me in due time; then move on to the next stage of your journey.

When Sorrow becomes your travel companion, embrace her as a blessing from Me. If you receive her into your heart, she will bring new depth and richness to your soul. She can teach you more about Me—a Man of sorrows, familiar with suffering. She can also give you hope, based on the promise of My Presence. Hoping in Me will limit how far down you go in your suffering; it assures you that you will again praise Me for the help of My Presence. Although this protects you from falling into deep despair, it is not a “quick fix.” You and Sorrow may continue to journey together for a while. Nonetheless, you will discover along the way a new capacity growing within you: the ability to be sorrowful, yet always rejoicing.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
~ Isaiah 53:3

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.
~ Psalm 42:5  [NASB]

Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing . . .
~ 2 Corinthians 6:10

Jesus Lives

I am faithful: I will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. Find comfort and hope in this powerful promise. I know you sometimes feel as if you’re at the outer limits of your endurance. Nonetheless, I am present in the midst of your struggles—available to help you.

Every trial that comes into your life can either strengthen you (if you keep on trusting in My care) or become a temptation to sin (if you choose instead to doubt Me and go your own way). Thus, any difficulty you face becomes a test of your faith. This faith of yours is much more precious than gold, and it grows deeper through the testing process. So your trials contain meaning and purpose.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

~ 1 Corinthians 10:13

That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

~ 1 Peter 1:7 [NKJV]

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!

~ Psalm 27:14 [NKJV]

Jesus Calling

FOCUS YOUR ENTIRE BEING on My living Presence. I am most assuredly with you, enveloping you in My Love and Peace. While you relax in My Presence, I am molding your mind and cleansing your heart. I am re-creating you into the one I designed you to be.

As you move from stillness into the activities of your day, do not relinquish your attentiveness to Me. If something troubles you, talk it over with Me. If you get bored with what you are doing, fill the time with prayers and praise. When someone irritates you, don’t let your thoughts linger on that person’s faults. Gently nudge your mind back to Me. Every moment is precious if you keep your focus on Me. Any day can be a good day because My Presence permeates all time.

PSALM 89:15–16; 1 JOHN 3:19–20; JUDE V V. 24–25; PSALM 41:12

Jesus Always

Trust Me to lead you step by step through this day. I provide sufficient Light for only one day at a time. If you try to look into the future, you will find yourself peering into darkness. My Face shines upon you only in the present! This is where you find My unfailing, unquenchable Love. My Love for you is even stronger than the bond between a mother and her baby. Though she may forget the baby at her breast, I will not forget you! You are so precious to Me that I have engraved you on the palms of My hands. Forgetting you is out of the question.

I want you to really come to know—practically, through experience—My Love, which far surpasses mere knowledge. The Holy Spirit, who lives in your innermost being, will help you. Ask Him to fill you up completely with My fullness so that you may have the richest measure of the divine Presence: becoming a body wholly filled and flooded with Me! Thus you can experience My Love in full measure.

“The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.”
~ Numbers 6:25 [NKJV]

Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised.
~ Song of Songs 8:7 [NKJV]

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”
~ Isaiah 49:15–16

[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
~ Ephesians 3:19 [AMP]

Dear Jesus

Remember that you live in a fallen world: an abnormal world tainted by sin. Much frustration and failure result from your seeking perfection in this life

Dear Jesus,

I know I live in a fallen world, but sometimes I slip into denial of that truth. I’m still driven to seek perfection where it can never be found—this world. I waste so much time and energy trying to do things perfectly, when simply getting them done would be sufficient. This leads not only to frustration but also, at times, to its close ally: anger. Please help me break out of this self-defeating behavior.

Beloved, your yearning for perfection is not bad in itself. I placed this longing in your heart so you would search for Me. However, your heart also contains many effects of the Fall. As a result, you often seek perfection apart from Me. This sets you on a path of frustration and failure—sometimes even idolatry. You can always return to Me by choosing to seek Me first and foremost. As you do so, I set your feet on a rock and give you a firm place to stand. I also put a new song in your mouth: a hymn of praise.

Do not try to stifle your longing for perfection. It serves a paramount purpose—pointing you not only to Me but also to your future, eternal home. Your unsatisfied yearnings can awaken you to the radiant perfection awaiting you in heaven. So, let the frustration of living in a fallen world remind you that you originated in a perfect place (Eden) and you’re on the way to an inexpressibly glorious place—heaven!

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.
~ Psalm 40:2–3

Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
~ Genesis 2:8

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
~ Philippians 3:20–21

Jesus Lives

Listen to Me! Thus you can live in peace and safety, unafraid. Listening to Me is the way of wisdom. I make wisdom available to everyone who is willing to hear Me. Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares—proclaiming the truth openly. Those who ignore her message will cry out for mercy on the day of judgment, but it will be too late. Now is the time to listen!

It is vital for you to hear Me accurately and consistently. If you hear Me inaccurately, you may find yourself worshiping a false god: practicing idolatry. The best safeguard against this deadly deception is studying My Word and meditating on it. As you do so, Scripture takes root and flourishes within you—changing the way you think. My Word is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword—able to accomplish great things in you.

Listening to Me consistently is both a discipline and a matter of the heart. The more convinced you are of My Love for you, the more motivated you are to listen. I have deep, unfailing Love for all who know Me as Savior-God. Look up to Me through eyes of faith, and see My Face shining on you with loving approval. Listen to Me, for this is the way of Peace.

All who listen to me shall live in peace and safety, unafraid.
~ Proverbs 1:33 [TLB]

Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares; . . . in the gateways of the city she makes her speech: . . . “How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?”
~ Proverbs 1:20–22

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
~ Hebrews 4:12 [NKJV]

Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.
~ Psalm 31:16
