Jesus Always

I give you Joy in your journey through the world. This sparkling gift is not a luxury; it’s a necessity! There are bumps in the road ahead, as well as sharp curves, ascents, and descents. Without Joy in your heart, you will become weary and discouraged.

Joy is not dependent on the circumstances in your life. It can transcend them all! This is why impoverished people are often more joyful than those who have material wealth. Sick—and even dying—people can also be joyful when they’re trusting in Me as Savior, Lord, and Friend.

Seek to spread Joy in the world around you. Let My Light reflect from your demeanor—through your smiles, your laughter, your words. The Holy Spirit will equip you to do this as you give Him space in your life. Ask Him to fill you with contagious delight. Concentrate on staying close to Me, and I will lead you along the path of Life. In My Presence there is fullness of Joy.

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
~ Hebrews 12:3 [NKJV]

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
~ Habakkuk 3:17–18

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
~ Psalm 16:11 [ESV]

Jesus Always

One of My names is Wonderful Counselor. I understand you far, far better than you understand yourself. So come to Me with your problems and insecurities, seeking My counsel. In the Light of My loving Presence you can see yourself as you really are: radiantly lovely in My brilliant righteousness. Though My righteousness is perfect, you will continue to struggle with imperfections—yours and others’—as long as you live in this world. Still, your standing with Me is secure. Nothing in all creation can separate you from My Love!

A good counselor helps you recognize truth and live according to it. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. So be open and honest when you bring Me your concerns. Also, fill your mind and heart with My Word, which contains absolute truth.

A wonderful counselor is not only extremely good at helping people but also able to inspire delight or pleasure. Delight yourself in Me, beloved, and I will give you the desires of your heart.

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
~ Isaiah 9:6 [NASB]

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~ Romans 8:38–39

Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”
~ John 18:37 [NLT]

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
~ Psalm 37:4

Jesus Always

I am your ever-present Help. Many people stumble out of bed in the morning and head straight for the coffee pot. Though they are not yet thinking clearly, they are awake enough to move toward something that will help unscramble their thoughts. I perform a similar function for you when your mind stumbles in My direction. Ask Me to clear out the confusion so you can communicate deeply with Me. You have this amazing capacity because I created you in My own image.

As you wait in My Presence, I not only unscramble your thoughts, I straighten your path through the day. I am sovereign over every aspect of your life, so opening up the way before you is no problem for Me. Some people assume they don’t have time to begin their day with Me. They don’t realize how much I can facilitate their activities—removing obstacles and giving insights that save time. When you spend precious moments with Me, I compensate you generously: I clarify your thinking and smooth out the circumstances of your life.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
~ Psalm 46:1

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
~ Genesis 1:27 [NKJV]

Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
~ Jeremiah 32:17

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.
~ Psalm 33:20

Jesus Always

Relax, My child. I’m in control. Let these words wash over you repeatedly, like soothing waves on a beautiful beach, assuring you of My endless Love. You waste a lot of time and energy trying to figure out things before their time has come. Meanwhile, I am working to prepare the way before you. So be on the lookout for some wonderful surprises—circumstances that only I could have orchestrated.

Remember that you are My beloved. I am on your side, and I want what is best for you. Someone who is loved by a generous, powerful person can expect to receive an abundance of blessings. You are loved by the King of the universe, and I have good plans for you. As you look ahead into the unknown future, relax in the knowledge of who you are—the one I love. Cling to My hand, and go forward with confidence. While you and I walk together along the path of Life, your trust in Me will fill your heart with Joy and your mind with Peace.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
~ Jeremiah 29:11

About Benjamin he said: “Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.”
~ Deuteronomy 33:12

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
~ Psalm 16:11 [NKJV]

Jesus Always

All things are possible with Me! Let these powerful words light up your mind and encourage your heart. Refuse to be intimidated by the way things look at the moment. I am training you to live by faith, not by sight.

The sense of sight is a spectacular gift from Me, to be used joyfully and gratefully. However, it’s easy to be mesmerized by all the visual stimulation surrounding you—and forget about Me. Faith is a type of vision that connects you to Me. Instead of being so focused on the visible world, dare to trust in Me and My promises.

Live close to Me, your Savior and Friend, but remember: I am also infinite God. When I lived on your planet, My miraculous signs revealed My Glory, and My disciples put their faith in Me. I continue to do miracles in your world, according to My will and purposes. Seek to align your will with Mine and to see things from My perspective. Exert your faith to ask for big things, and watch in hope for Me to work.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
~ Mark 10:27 [ESV]

We live by faith, not by sight.
~ 2 Corinthians 5:7

This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.
~ John 2:11

As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

~Micah 7:7

Jesus Always

The more often you turn your thoughts to Me, the more you will enjoy My perfect Peace. This is a challenging goal, but it is also a glorious gift. I, the Shepherd of your soul, am always accessible to you.

You can train your mind to turn from other things and focus on Me. When you experience something beautiful, thank Me for it. When a loved one brings you joy, remember that I am the Source of this pleasure. Post reminders of My Presence in your home or car or office. It’s also wise to memorize Scripture since it is ultimately about Me.

Turning your thoughts to Me demonstrates your trust in Me. Even undesired things such as pain and problems can be reminders to communicate with Me. Focusing on My Presence protects you from getting stuck on problems—going over and over them in your mind without making any progress. Be creative in finding new ways to turn your thoughts toward Me. Thus you can enjoy the wondrous gift of My Peace.

He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!
~ Isaiah 26:3 [TLB]

For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
~ 1 Peter 2:25 [NASB]

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
~ Philippians 4:6–7

Jesus Always

Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! As you begin a fresh year, rejoice that I am continually working newness into your life. Don’t let recent disappointments and failures define you or dampen your expectations. This is the time to make a fresh start! I am a God of unlimited creativity; expect Me to do surprising things in this year that stretches out before you.

Today is a precious gift. The present moment is where I meet with you, beloved. So seek My Face throughout this day that I have made. I have carefully prepared it for you—with tender attention to every detail. I want you to rejoice and be glad in it.

Search for signs of My loving Presence as you journey along the path of Life. Look for the little pleasures I have strewn alongside your pathway—sometimes in surprising places—and thank Me for each one. Your thankfulness will keep you close to Me and help you find Joy in your journey.
