Jesus Always

No matter how you’re feeling, remember that you are not on trial. There is no condemnation for those who belong to Me—those who know Me as Savior. You have already been judged “Not guilty!” in the courts of heaven.

I came to earth to set you free from bondage to sin. I long to see you living joyfully in that freedom. Learn to enjoy your guilt-free position in My kingdom, refusing to be weighed down or shackled. The world is in a fallen condition where sin and evil abound, but I have overcome the world!

The best response to the grace lavished on you is thankfulness—gratitude that fuels a desire to live according to My will. The closer you live to Me, the better you can discern My will; also, the more you can experience My Peace and Joy. Knowing Me intimately helps you trust Me enough to receive Peace from Me even in the midst of trouble. Overflowing with thankfulness has the delightful “side effect” of increasing your Joy. Live freely and joyously in My Presence, beloved!

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
~ Romans 8:1

“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
~ John 8:36

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
~ John 16:33

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
~ Colossians 2:6–7

Jesus Always

I am training you to be an overcomer—to find Joy in the midst of circumstances that previously would have defeated you. Your ability to transcend trouble is based on this rock-solid fact: I have overcome the world; I have already won the ultimate victory! Nonetheless, as I taught, you will have trouble in this world. So expect to encounter many difficulties as you journey through life. You inhabit a planet that is always at war, and the enemy of your soul never rests. But don’t be afraid, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. This is good reason to rejoice!

When you are in the midst of challenging circumstances, it is crucial to keep trusting Me. Whisper “I trust You, Jesus” as often as you need—remembering I am always near. Ask Me to help you learn all that I have for you in this trial. Look for flowers of Joy growing in the rich soil of adversity. The sunlight of My Face is shining upon you, beloved.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
~ John 16:33

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
~ 1 John 4:4

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
~ Psalm 145:18

“The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.”
~ Numbers 6:25

Jesus Always

Look to Me and My strength; seek My Face always. I encourage you to let your heart rejoice whenever you are seeking Me.

Imagine an engaged couple—passionately in love. When the man goes to visit his betrothed, she doesn’t open the door and blithely say, “Oh, it’s you.” Nor does he look past her as if she were invisible and ask, “Do you have anything to eat?” Instead, their hearts leap for joy because they are together. You are My betrothed, and I am the forever-Lover of your soul. Rejoice in the astonishing affection I have for you!

Glory in My holy Name; it’s holy because it represents Me. This Name is above every name, yet you may use it freely to commune with Me and worship Me joyously. You are privileged to have such easy access to Me. Some people glory in their wealth, achievements, beauty, or fame. But I invite you to exult in Me—your Savior, Lord, and Lover. Glorifying Me will strengthen and delight you, bringing Power to your prayers and Joy to your heart.

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
~ 1 Chronicles 16:10–11

I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.
~ 2 Corinthians 11:2

“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”
~ John 15:13

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.
~ Philippians 2:9–10

Jesus Always

Before you call I will answer; while you are still speaking I will hear. I know you sometimes feel as if you’re alone—in the dark. You continue praying because it’s the right thing to do, but you wonder if your prayers make any difference. When you are feeling this way, it’s good to stop and remember who I AM—the King of Glory! I transcend time. Past, present, and future all are alike to Me. This is why I can answer before you even call out to Me.

No prayer of yours is ever unheard or unanswered. However, sometimes My answer is “No” or “Not yet.” At other times your prayers are answered in ways you cannot see. My wisdom is unsearchable—immeasurably beyond your understanding. Take time to think about the wonders of My infinite intelligence and to delight in My endless Love for you. If you persist in this intimate adoration, you will know beyond any doubt that you are never alone. You are Mine!

“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
~ Isaiah 65:24

Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty—he is the King of glory.
~ Psalm 24:10

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
~ Romans 11:33

Jesus Always

Rejoice always! This is one of the shortest verses in the Bible, but it is radiant with heavenly Light. I made you in My image, and I crafted you with the ability to choose Joy in the moments of your life. When your mind is going down an unpleasant, gloomy path, stop it in its tracks with this glorious command. See how many times each day you can remind yourself to rejoice.

It is important not only to be joyful but to think about specific reasons for rejoicing. They can be as simple as My daily provisions for you—food, shelter, clothing. Relationships with loved ones can also be a rich source of Joy. Since you are My beloved, your relationship with Me is an ever-present wellspring of gladness. These joyful thoughts will light up both your mind and your heart, enabling you to find more pleasure in your life.

Choosing to rejoice will bless you and those around you. It will also strengthen your relationship with Me.

Rejoice always.

~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

~ Genesis 1:27

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

~ Philippians 4:4

Jesus Always

Be still in My presence, and wait patiently for Me to act. Stillness is a rare commodity in this world. Many people judge themselves and their day by how much they have accomplished. Resting in My Presence is usually not one of those accomplishments. Yet how much blessing can be found in this holy rest!

Peace and Joy abound in My Presence, but it takes time for them to soak into your inner being. It also takes trust. Instead of fussing and fuming when your plans are thwarted, wait patiently for Me to act. You can watch in hope for Me because I am God your Savior. Be assured that I will hear you. I may not answer as soon as you would like, but I always respond to your prayers in the best way.

Don’t worry about evil people or fret about their wicked schemes. I laugh at the wicked, for I know their day is coming. Rest in Me, beloved. Be still, and know that I am God.

Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
~ Psalm 37:7

As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
—Micah 7:7

The Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.
~ Psalm 37:13

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
~ Psalm 46:10

Jesus Always

I draw near you in the present moment. Seek to enjoy My Presence in the present; trust and thankfulness are your best allies in this quest.

When you wallow in the past or worry about the future, your awareness of Me grows dim. But the more you trust Me, the more fully you can live in the present, where My Presence awaits you always. Speak to Me frequently: “I trust You, Jesus.” “I love You, O Lord, my strength.” These short prayers keep you close to Me—confident that I’m lovingly watching over you.

It’s important for you to grow not only more trusting but more thankful. A grateful attitude is essential for living near Me. Ingratitude is offensive to Me, and it drags you down both spiritually and emotionally. Remember that you are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken—no matter what is happening in your life or in the world. This means that you have a constant, unshakable reason to be thankful. Stay anchored to Me and enjoy My Presence by giving thanks in all circumstances.

I love You, O Lord, my strength.
—Psalm 18:1

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”
—Hebrews 12:28–29

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
—1 Thessalonians 5:18
