Jesus Always

As you journey through life with Me, see the hope of heaven shining on your path—lighting up your perspective. Remember that you are one of My chosen people, belonging to Me. I called you out of darkness into My wonderful Light. Savor the richness of these concepts: I chose you before the creation of the world, so nothing can separate you from Me. You belong to Me forever! I drew you out of the darkness of sin and death into the exquisite Light of eternal Life.

The brightness of My Presence helps you in multiple ways. The closer to Me you live, the more clearly you can see the way forward. As you soak in this Love-drenched Light, I give you strength and bless you with Peace. My radiance blesses not only you but also other people as it permeates your whole being. This time spent focusing on Me helps you become more like Me, enabling you to shine into the lives of others. I’m continually drawing My loved ones out of darkness into My glorious Light.

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
~ 1 Peter 2:9

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
~ Ephesians 1:4

For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
~ Romans 8:2 [ESV]

The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.
~ Psalm 29:11 [NKJV]

Jesus Always

To the one who is thirsty I will give water free of charge from the spring of the water of Life. Drink deeply from this spring so that I can live abundantly in you. Let the water of Life soak into the depths of your being, refreshing and renewing you. Since this Life-water is free, you can have as much of it as you want—as much of Me as you want. I am Christ in you, the hope of Glory!

I long for you to thirst for Me, your God, more and more. Thirst is a very powerful appetite; this is necessary because drinking sustains life even more than eating. Pure water is a much healthier choice than canned drinks full of sugar or chemicals. Similarly, thirsting for Me first and foremost is crucial for your spiritual health. Though other things may seem to satisfy you for a while, they will not slake the thirst of your soul.

Rejoice that what you need most is free of charge! Joyously draw water from the springs of salvation.

He also said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the one who is thirsty I will give water free of charge from the spring of the water of life.”
~ Revelation 21:6 [NET]

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
~ Colossians 1:27

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
~ Psalm 63:1 [ESV]

Therefore you will joyously draw water from the springs of salvation.
~ Isaiah 12:3 [NASB]

Jesus Always

Don’t be afraid to face your sins. Except for Me, there has never been a sinless person. If you claim to be without sin, you deceive yourself and evade the truth. It’s actually quite freeing to confess your sins, knowing that I will forgive you and purify you from all unrighteousness. The good news is that I have redeemed you—paid the full penalty for all your sins. When you confess your wrongdoings, you are aligning yourself with the truth. Since I Myself am the Truth, your confession draws you closer to Me. It also sets you free from nagging guilt feelings.

When you realize you have sinned in your thoughts, words, or actions, admit it immediately. Your confession need not be lengthy or eloquent. It can be as simple as: “Forgive me and cleanse me, Lord.” I have already done the hard part—dying on the cross for your sins. Your part is to live in the Light of the Truth. I, your Savior, am the Light of the world.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
~ 1 John 1:8–9

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
~ John 14:6

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
~ John 8:32

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
~ John 8:12

Jesus Always

I want you to comfort others with the comfort you have received from Me. No matter what circumstances you are enduring, My Presence and comfort are sufficient for your needs. As a Christian, everything you endure has meaning and purpose. Suffering can build your character and prepare you to help others who are struggling. So talk freely with Me about the difficulties in your life, and ask Me to use them for My purposes. Of course, you can seek relief from hardship, but be careful not to overlook the blessings hidden in it.

When you draw closer to Me during tough times—seeking My help—you grow in maturity and wisdom. This equips you to help others as they endure adversity. Your empathy for hurting people will spill over into their lives. You will find that you’re the most effective at comforting those who are enduring trials you’ve already been through.

You can grow in peacefulness though the discipline of hardship. Though it is painful at the time, later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
~ 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
~ Philippians 4:19

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
~ Hebrews 12:11 [ESV]

Jesus Always

When anxiety is great within you, turn to Me for consolation. Other words for “consolation” are comfort, compassion, empathy, help, encouragement, reassurance, and relief. I gladly provide all of this—and much more—for My children. Yet your natural tendency when you’re feeling anxious is to focus on yourself or your problems. The more you do this, the more you forget about Me and all the help I can supply. This worldly focus only increases your anxiety! Let the discomfort you feel at such times alert you to your neglect of Me. Whisper My Name, and invite Me into your difficulties.

Seek My Face, finding comfort in My compassion and empathy. Look to Me for encouragement, reassurance, and help. I know all about your problems, and I also know the best way to deal with them. As you relax in My loving Presence, I strengthen you and provide relief from your anxiety. I reassure you that nothing in all creation can separate you from My Love. My consolation is full of blessings, beloved; it brings Joy to your soul.

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.
~ Psalm 94:19

When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
~ Psalm 27:8

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~ Romans 8:38–39

Jesus Always

When the task before you looks daunting, refuse to be intimidated. Discipline your thinking to view the challenge as a privilege rather than a burdensome duty. Make the effort to replace your “I have to” mentality with an “I get to” approach. This will make all the difference in your perspective—transforming drudgery into delight. This is not a magic trick; the work still has to be done. But the change in your viewpoint can help you face the challenging chore joyfully and confidently.

As you go about your work, perseverance is essential. If you start to grow weary or discouraged, remind yourself: “I get to do this!” Then thank Me for giving you the ability and strength to do what needs to be done. Thankfulness clears your mind and draws you close to Me. Remember that My Spirit who lives in you is the Helper; ask Him to help you when you’re perplexed. As you ponder problems and seek solutions, He will guide your mind. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart—as working for Me.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
~ Colossians 4:2

“I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.”
~ John 14:16 [NKJV]

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.
~ Colossians 3:23

Jesus Always

I want you to live close to Me, open to Me—aware of, attentive to, trusting, and thanking Me. I am always near you, so open yourself fully—heart, mind, and spirit—to My living Presence. Feel free to ask the Holy Spirit to help you in this endeavor.

Seek to stay aware of Me as you follow your path through this day. There is never a moment when I am not fully aware of you. Attentiveness involves being alert, listening carefully, and observing closely. I encourage you to be attentive not only to Me but to the people I bring into your life. Listening to others with full, prayerful attention blesses both them and you.

“I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”—Revelation 1:18

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
~ James 1:19

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
~ Psalm 28:7
