Evening Prayer

EXPECT GREATER THINGS
Psalm 65:11; Matthew 9:17; James 3:11-14

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You

Today, may you look back at another year gone by, and praise the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness in your life. I thank Him for all He has given you this year – provisions, protection, healing and success. I pray for new breakthroughs from the Lord for the coming year. May new ideas, new things, and new relationships be revealed to you in the days to come. May God continue to mold and prepare you for great things He has in store. I pray for an excitement to rise within you, as God unfolds things you have not yet seen. May an abundance that you cannot contain come to you and your family. I ask that God will make every seed that you have sown throughout the year, grow and bear fruit.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Daily Strength for Daily Needs

Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

~ Phil 3:13-14

Yet I argue not
Against Heaven’s hand or will, nor bate a jot
Of heart or hope; but still bear up and steer
Right onward.

~  J. MILTON

It is not by regretting what is irreparable that true work is to be done, but by making the best of what we are. It is not by complaining that we have not the right tools, but by using well the tools we have. What we are, and where we are, is God’s providential arrangement,—God’s doing, though it may be man’s misdoing; and the manly and the wise way is to look your disadvantages in the face, and see what can be made out of them. Life, like war, is a series of mistakes, and he is not the best Christian nor the best general who makes the fewest false steps. He is the best who wins the most splendid victories by the retrieval of mistakes. Forget mistakes; organize victory out of mistakes.
~ F. W. ROBERTSON

No Other Name

There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

~ Acts 4:12 [NLT]

In a world filled with uncertainty, there is one thing we can be sure of; salvation only comes through the name of Jesus!  When we place our faith in Jesus, He promises that we can be saved. What good news! We are secure in Christ, in an insecure world.

Thank You Jesus.

Evening Prayer

STRENGTHEN YOUR HEART
Isaiah 40:29-31; 1 Thessalonians 3:13

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You

I pray that you will put your hope in the Lord, so that your strength will be renewed. I pray that the Lord will protect you from stumbling and falling. I pray that God will increase your power to stand up against the weight and pressures of the world. May you have the strength of heart at all times, and soar above any difficult circumstance around you. I pray that God will strengthen your heart, so that you will be blameless and holy.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Daily Wisdom

“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.”

~ Eccl 7:8

Thus says the wise man, and it is often true in natural things, but invariably so in divine. Rarely at first can we foresee what will be the outcome of any matter which we take in hand. We may begin it with much hope, and find in the end those hopes sadly disappointed. We may begin it with much fear, and find from the event those fears utterly groundless. Whatever we take in hand it is very rare that our expectations are fully carried out, for we have again and again to learn that “man’s heart devises his way, but the Lord directs his steps,” and that there are many devices in a man’s heart, nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that and that only, shall stand.

But so far as we are among the family of God, and as such are under especial guidance and divine teaching and leading, whether our first expectations are accomplished or not, the end stamps wisdom and goodness upon all the dealings of God with us both in providence and in grace. However chequered his path has been; however, as Job speaks, his purposes have been broken off, even the thoughts of his heart; however when he looked for good, then evil came unto him, and when he waited for light there came darkness; whatever bitter things God seemed to write against him when he made him to possess the sins of his youth, yet sooner or later every child of God will be able to say, “O how great is your goodness which you have laid up for those who fear you!” and this will embolden him to add, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me, as they have already followed me, all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Brevity of Life

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

~ Psalm 90:12

It’s easy to push aside the knowledge that life is short. That is, until we hear of a loved one who passes. When we really come to value our life, it becomes less important to have additional time and more important to have quality time. We grow in wisdom with our choices of how we spend our time. Let’s stay sensitive to how we spend our time, where we spend our time, and with whom we spend our time.
