Days of Heaven Upon Earth

Happy are ye if ye do them
~ John 13:17

You little know the rest that comes from the yielded will, the surrendered choice, the abandoned world, the meek and lowly heart that lets the world go by, and knows that it shall inherit the earth which it has refused! You little know the relish that it gives to the blessing to hunger and thirst after righteousness, and to be filled with a satisfaction that worldly delight cannot afford, and then to rise to the higher blessedness of the merciful, the forgiving, the hearts that have learned that it is more blessed to give than to receive, and the lives that find that letting go is twice possessing, and blessing others is to be doubly blessed!

Nay, there is yet one jewel brighter than all the rest in this crown of beatitudes. It is the tear–drop crystallized into the diamond, the blood–drop transfigured into the ruby of heaven’s eternal crown. It is the joy of suffering with Jesus, and then forgetting all the sorrow in the overflowing joy, until with the heavenly Pascal we know not which to say first, and so we say them both together, Tears upon tears, joy upon joy.

Way of Life

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
~ Psalms 16:11 [NLT]
Knowing God is the most important thing. Without the knowledge of who God is we miss out on living out our purpose for our lives.  We are created to be in relationship with God.  Connecting with God is how we find joy! If you don’t know God, take a moment and pray and invite Him into your life, so you can experience the joy of His presence.

Evening Prayer

FOLLOW HIS GUIDANCE
Proverbs 4:10-15

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You

I pray that you will listen to the guidance of God our Father. May you accept what He says so that the years of your life will be many. May you follow His wisdom, which will lead you along straight paths. May you hold on to His instruction, and guard it well for it is your life. I pray that you will not falter when you walk nor stumble when you run, and may you never set foot on the path of the wicked. I pray for your prosperity in life as you commit your way to follow His guidance.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Evening Prayer

EXPERIENCE GOD’S MERCY
2 Chronicles 6:19; Psalms 40:11; Psalms 119:132; Micah 7:18

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You

May you realize that God pardons sins and forgives the transgressions of His children, for He does not stay angry forever but delights in showing you mercy. I pray then, that you will come into God’s house in repentance and bow down to Him in reverence. I pray that the Lord will not withhold His mercy from you, because you love Him. May you love the Lord with all your heart, and know that His mercies endure forever.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Standing Strong

If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.
~ 1 Corinthians 10:12 [NLT]

Deception is powerful because you don’t realize it’s happening. Sometimes we think we’re doing something good, such as working feverishly to earn extra money for a bigger house, a newer car or more savings. But be careful not to obsess about material things at the expense of growing your relationship with your spouse, family and God.

The Armor of God

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
~ Ephesians 6:11 [NLT]

Do you ever feel vulnerable to attack? Are you afraid that your responses to provocation may cause you to be unrighteous? Don’t go into battle unprotected; instead, clothe yourself in God’s armor. In verses 14-18, Paul characterizes this armor as truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation.  He then finishes with the action of praying. Trust that God will equip you with the tools you need.

Are You There?

I cannot hide from you.

~ Psalm 139:11-12 [NLT]

Are you searching for God but cannot tell if He is answering you? Remember, He is always waiting for you with grace and forgiveness. The question is: are you ready to open the door and invite Him into your life? If you’re not sure, try asking yourself if you wish your parents or siblings were saved by Him. If you wish the most meaningful people in your life were saved, it may be a hidden sign of your own faith in God.
