How often do you share how happy you are that you are going through a hard time? Most of us don’t do our happy dance when things get hard but James says consider these moments to be joyful ones. We can be joyful in these moments because we can trust that God will use them to grow our faith.
What does the Holy Spirit feel like? It’s an inner urge that can come gently or even forcefully to say words, connect people, or take action. Usually the result of the prompting of the Holy Spirit brings healing, strength and joy, only good things. It may not necessarily be clear to us in the moment how our words and actions bring healing. By stifling the Holy Spirit, we don’t carry out the message we have received and stand in the way. The next time you feel the inner gut feeling to follow through on something, embrace it and let the Holy Spirit work through you.
COMPASSION FOR THE POOR
Deuteronomy 15:10-11; Proverbs 3:27
In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You.
I pray that God will fill your heart with compassion for the poor and needy. May you be compassionate and open-handed toward the poor and needy in the land. May you give generously to those who have material needs. Give without a grudging heart, for God loves a cheerful giver. I pray that you will not withhold what is in your power to give. As you give generously and willingly, I pray that the Lord will bless you with more. I pray that He will prosper you in everything you put your hand to. May God increase the compassion in your heart.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Universal Holiness the Believer’s Aim
Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Phil 4:8
Father of eternal grace,
Glorify thyself in me;
Meekly beaming in my face,
May the world thine image see.
Apart of what the Spirit brings into our lives is the inspiration to dream big. Our faith grows when we take steps of faith to see the dream of our hearts realized. The Spirit calls us to serve God in ways that feel bigger than what we can do all on our own! So what is it that God has inspired you to do? Write it down and give Him the praise when you see the doors open for that dream to be realized!
