Be Refreshed

“You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but on the seventh day you must stop working. This gives your ox and your donkey a chance to rest. It also allows your slaves and the foreigners living among you to be refreshed.
~ Exodus 23:12 [NLT]

God takes His example set in Genesis of taking the 7th day to rest and turns it into a command for His people in Exodus.  This command has a purpose though, which was that they would be refreshed.  God’s commands are not about God setting restrictive rules but they set boundaries as a part of His way of looking out for us. Pausing to rest is an important part of caring for your soul.
