The Love Dare

Love is Honorable
When your attempts at honor go unreciprocated, you are to give honor just the same. That’s what love dares to do – to say, “Of all the relationships I have, I will value ours the most. Of all the things I’m willing to sacrifice, I will sacrifice the most for you. With all your failures, sins, mistakes, and faults – past and present – I still choose to love and honor you.” That’s how you create an atmosphere for love to be rekindled. That’s how you lead your heart to truly love your mate again. And that’s the beauty of honor.

Evening Prayer

RESPECT GOVERNING AUTHORITY
Romans 13:1; Ephesians 6:5; 1 Peter 2:17

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You

I pray that you will show proper respect for the leaders, lawmakers and law enforcers of our government. May you respect them, for their authority has been established by God to bring peace and order to this land. I pray that you will not curse them when they do wrong, but rather, pray for them. Pray that they themselves will submit to the authority and lordship of Jesus Christ. Pray that they will be guided by God’s laws and His righteousness. May God lead you to bless and pray for our governing authorities everyday.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Turning Point

Do Not Rob God

[Malachi 3:8-12]

8 “Will a man rob God?Yet you have robbed Me!But you say,‘In what way have we robbed You?’In tithes and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse,For you have robbed Me,Even this whole nation.
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,That there may be food in My house,And try Me now in this,”Says the Lord of hosts,“If I will not open for you the windows of heavenAnd pour out for you such blessingThat there will not be room enough to receive it.

11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”Says the Lord of hosts;

12 “And all nations will call you blessed,For you will be a delightful land,”Says the Lord of hosts.
In the final book of the Old Testament, the last of the Hebrew prophets urged the Israelites—those who had returned from Babylon to restore the nation of Judah—to make some improvements. The people were lapsing into complacency and apathy. One area that needed changing—their personal giving patterns. They failed to consistently give a tenth of their income to the Lord. Malachi put it as sharply as he knew how. They were robbing God!
“‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it’” (Malachi 3:10, NIV).
This is the only time in Scripture we’re invited to test or try God. When we give generously, systematically, and cheerfully to Him, He will open “the floodgates of heaven.” What a promise! What a challenge! Imagine the floodgates of heaven sliding open!
God loves a cheerful giver.
One of the reasons I tithe is because by doing it, every year and every month and every week, I am proving in my own heart that God’s truth is indeed trustworthy. He will take care of us.
~ David Jeremiah

Daily Strength for Daily Needs

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

~ Prov 3:6

He leadeth me.

~ Ps 23:2

In “pastures green”? Not always; sometimes He

Who knoweth best, in kindness leadeth me

In weary ways, where heavy shadows be.

So, whether on the hill-tops high and fair

I dwell, or in the sunless valleys, where

The shadows lie, what matter? He is there.

~ HENRY H. BARRY

The Shepherd knows what pastures are best for his sheep, and they must not question nor doubt, but trustingly follow Him. Perhaps He sees that the best pastures for some of us are to be found in the midst of opposition or of earthly trials. If He leads you there, you may be sure they are green for you, and you will grow and be made strong by feeding there. Perhaps He sees that the best waters for you to walk beside will be raging waves of trouble and sorrow. If this should be the case, He will make them still waters for you, and you must go and lie down beside them, and let them have all their blessed influences upon you.

~ H. W. SMITH

Eternal Perspectives

Should it not thrill any mother to know that the darling treasure taken from her bosom as a tiny infant will be seen again, not as an unopened bud, but as a full-bloomed rose in the garden of paradise? What a reunion that will be!

~ J. Sidlow Baxter, [The Other Side of Death]
