Jesus Lives

Rejoice in this day of life, being willing to follow Me wholeheartedly—wherever I lead. Anticipate blessings as we journey together. Since I have created this day of life and presented it to you free of charge, I want you to receive it gratefully. Your natural tendency when you awaken is to assess the day before you, trying to discern how good (or bad) it will be. You do this almost unconsciously, often basing your conclusions on something as trivial as the weather. I urge you to break free from this habit so you can be more receptive to Me and My blessings.

A thankful attitude is immensely helpful. If you awaken to find a dark, rainy day, you can thank Me for the rain. Having done so, you will be much less likely to grumble about the weather. Also, remember that I have arranged the conditions of your day. So you can assume there is much good to be found in it.

Rejoicing will help you find many blessings in this day. If your circumstances are looking rather bleak, then be joyful in Me—your faithful Companion. I want you to enjoy Me and look for precious gifts I’ve placed along the path we are following. In faith, be on the lookout for good things both great and small. Also, because I am your Teacher, I promise to provide learning opportunities as we travel together.

When you reach the end of this day, stop and look back at the distance we have covered. Take time to ponder what you have learned and to savor the gifts you have found. Let your mind dwell on these things as you lie down to sleep, rejoicing in Me and My blessings.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
~ Psalm 118:24

“You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.”
~ John 13:13

I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
~ Psalm 3:5

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
~ Ephesians 1:19-20

God is not a wimp.  The Bible chronicles time after time how God and his Spirit did miraculous things here on Earth.  The amazing thing is that you have access to that SAME power as a believer.  Pray bold prayers, believing that God can do mighty things for you.

Eternal Perspectives

Consider the old proverb, “Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die.” It assumes that the only earthly pleasures we’ll ever enjoy must be obtained now. As Christians, we should indeed eat, drink, and be merry—and also sacrifice, suffer, and die—all to the glory of God. In doing so, we’re preparing for an eternal life in which we will eat, drink, and be merry, but never again die. This present life, then, is not our last chance to eat, drink, and be merry—rather, it is the last time our eating, drinking, and merrymaking can be corrupted by sin, death, and the Curse.

Evening Prayer

Psalms 55:22; Psalms 90:14; Psalms 107:1; Lamentations 3:22

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You

I pray that God’s love will help you overcome your weariness. In difficult times, may the Lord satisfy you with His great love. I pray that His compassion that never fails will renew your strength every morning. May the Lord sustain you as you cast your cares upon Him. I pray for God’s love that endures forever, to fill you this day.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Gently And Humbly

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
~ Haggai 2:8 [NLT]

Life is busy. We’re so focused on achieving more, advancing our careers, and moving on to the next stage in life. While it’s a good thing to improve, we need to remind ourselves that the purpose is for God’s kingdom and not ours. As such, take a moment to reflect on this and think of how you can be a light to someone today from the successes that He’s given to you.
