To break the power of anxiety in our lives we have to change where our focus lies. When we focus on the negative then we become overwhelmed with negative emotions. There are so many situations that we have no control over in our lives but because we fixate on them they have total control over us. The alternative is to fix our mind on the goodness of the Lord. Write a list of ways God has been good to you and meditate on it when you start to feel overwhelmed during your day.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
