Feeling Tired

I am exhausted from crying for help; my throat is parched. My eyes are swollen with weeping, waiting for my God to help me.
~ Psalm 69:3 [NLT]

Do you ever feel tired? I mean tired of just trying so hard and yet just moving inches. Maybe you’re trying to mend a relationship, advance your career, or just trying to gather yourself emotionally. Despite these valleys in your life, don’t give up on hope. This hope is the purposefulness of your tribulations that God has planned to produce the most beautiful story about you. Be

Daily Quiet Time

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened.

~ Eph 1:17-18

We were coming down a mountain in Switzerland one evening, when a black thunder–storm blotted out the day, and all things were suddenly plunged into darkness. We could only dimly see the narrow, dusty footpaths, and the gloomy sides that were swallowed up in deeper gloom. What, then, of the majesty all about us, heights, and depths, and wonders? All was darkness. Then came the lightning not flashes, but the blazing of the whole sky, incessant, and on every side. What recesses of glory we gazed into! What marvels of splendor shone out of the darkness!

Think how with us, in us, is One who comes to make the common, dusty ways of life resplendent, illuminating our dull thoughts by the light of the glory of God; clearing the vision of the soul, and then revealing the greatness of the salvation that is ours in Christ.

~ Mark Guy Pearse.

Eternal Perspectives

Pleasure has become almost a dirty word amongst some Christians today, probably because pleasure is so often self-indulgent and sensual in our society. In heaven there is fullness of joy and (physical) pleasures forever more. These pleasures must include the physical and material, for two of the greatest rewards in heaven will be a new and glorious physical body, and immortality. Why would God give us physical bodies forever if there were not material rewards to enjoy forever with all of our physical senses?

Jesus Lives

Depending on Him

Cling to Me as your Lifeline. You need My help continually, and I am eager to provide it. Don’t be anxious about your inability to obey My voice perfectly. The most important commandment is to love Me with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Although you can do this only imperfectly, I nonetheless delight in your love—as a mother delights in a crumpled flower brought lovingly by her child. Moreover, I rejoice in your obedience, though it is flawed, and in your desire to obey Me. Instead of worrying about the ways you fall short, focus on doing what you can—out of love for Me. Your awareness of your inadequacy can actually be a blessing: It protects you from self-righteousness. It also trains you to depend on Me more and more.

When you relate to Me as your Lifeline, I am pleased. Since I am your Life, looking to Me for help is the wisest way to live. I created you as a dependent being, and if you don’t cling to Me, you will grasp onto other things. This can lead to addictions, destructive relationships, and other forms of idolatry. So the more you hold onto Me, the better your life will be. I realize you are weak and your faith-muscles easily tire. When you feel as if you’re about to lose your grip, cry out to Me! For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

That you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days.
~ Deuteronomy 30:20 [NJKV]

Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.”
~ Matthew 22:37–38

For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
~ Isaiah 41:13

Evening Prayer

1 Kings 22:5; Psalm 10:4; Isaiah 11:2-3; 30:1

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You.

I pray that in all that God leads you to undertake, you will seek first the counsel of the Lord. May you never execute your plans without His guidance. Remember that only the proud do not seek Him or make room for Him in their plans. I pray that you will know that those who hide their plans from the Lord heap sin and despair. As you seek the Lord, may His Spirit rest upon you. May the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and power be always with you. Then, as you make your plans in accordance with God’s will, I declare that He will bless you and prosper you beyond your expectations.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Evening Prayer

1 Timothy 3:2-3; James 3:1

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You.

May you realize that with the privilege of sharing the gospel comes a great responsibility. I pray that your behavior will always be above reproach. May you be temperate, self-controlled, gentle, and able to teach. I pray that you will not forget that those who teach are judged more strictly. I pray, therefore, that you will always remain in Him and walk closely with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Be Rooted

Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
~ 2 Corinthians 6:14 [NLT]

It can be a challenge at times to work with unbelievers. Putting God first is a major paradigm shift that changes how many decisions are made. Because of this, it is very important to be strong and rooted so that you influence Godly ways onto others and not soak in the ways of an earthly mind. Remember to be a light to others by showing others how God always shines love and grace.
