Daily Strength For Daily Needs

The Lord taketh pleasure In His people: He will beautify the meek with salvation.

— Ps 149:4 WEB

Long listening to Thy words,
My voice shall catch Thy tone,
And, locked in Thine, my hand shall grow
All loving like Thy own.

It is not in words explicable, with what divine lines and lights the exercise of godliness and charity will mould and gild the hardest and coldest countenance, neither to what darkness their departure will consign the loveliest. For there is not any virtue the exercise of which, even momentarily, will not impress a new fairness upon the features; neither on them only, but on the whole body the moral and intellectual faculties have operation, for all the movements and gestures, however slight, are different in their modes according to the mind that governs them—and on the gentleness and decision of right feeling follows grace of actions, and, through continuance of this, grace of form.

Evening Prayer

CALL OUT TO GOD
Psalms 77:1-4; 78:35

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You Tonight

In times of trial, I pray that you will cry out to God to help you. I pray that you will not rely on your own strength, but humble yourself and turn to Him, for He understands your distress and your sorrow. I pray that you  will let Him comfort your soul and strengthen your spirit, for He sees the tears you shed when no one is looking. In times when you are too troubled to speak, I pray that you will just call on God and He will embrace you with peace and comfort. May you always remember that God is your Rock; the Most High is your Redeemer.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Dear Jesus

Dear Jesus, I so long to walk in the way of Peace, and I believe that You are the only Way.

I ask that Your Light may shine upon me more and more. I continually need the Light of Your Presence, because I live in a cold, dark world. I desire Your radiant Presence not only for warmth but also for guidance. Please lead me along the path of Peace.

Beloved, My Presence radiates Light that helps you find the way of Peace. My Word enlightens your mind and heart, empowering you to stay on the right path. As you read Scripture, look for a star of guidance. Ask My Spirit to illumine those words to your seeking heart. They are words of Life!

Remember that I am your Shepherd. To walk in the way of Peace, you must follow Me wholeheartedly. If you drift even slightly from following My lead, you are at risk. For a while you will still be able to see Me, as you go your own way “just a bit.” Eventually, however, you will lose sight of Me altogether. Veering even a few degrees off course will ultimately take you far from Me. With your feet no longer on the path of Peace, you will find yourself becoming increasingly anxious. The most important thing at this point is to realize you have lost your way. If you are humble enough, you can call out to Me for help. I am near to all who call on Me. I will hear your cry and save you, leading you back to the way of Peace.

A Light from on high will dawn upon us and visit [us] to shine upon and give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct and guide our feet in a straight line into the way of peace.
~ Luke 1:78–79

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
~ John 14:6

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
~ Psalm 119:105

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.
~ Psalm 145:18–19

Evening Prayer

A TEACHABLE SPIRIT
Proverbs 1:7; 22:17-19

In Jesus’ Name, I Pray God’s Will for You Today

May you have a humble and teachable heart in everything you do, for this is the beginning of knowledge. I pray that you will not despise wisdom, but instead pay attention and listen to the sayings of the wise, to those who study and obey God’s Word in their life. I pray that you will apply your heart to the teachings of God, for He is pleased when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips. May God bless you with an ever-teachable heart.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
