Evening Prayer

[Proverbs 29:11; Ephesians 4:26; James 1:20-21]

May your heart be free from anger, but instead be filled with love and compassion, for anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires for you. I pray that the compassion of God – slow to anger and abounding in love – be evident in your life. May you, therefore, not give full vent to your anger but learn to control your temper. I pray that you will not harbor resentment for this will give the devil a foothold over you. May you rid your heart of any form of anger or bitterness, and fill it with God’s abounding love.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
