For we who have believed enter that rest.
They do wrong and are unable to repent.—But I see a different law in my members waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that is in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”—Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory.
For the one who enters God’s rest has also rested from his works.—Not because I have my own righteousness derived from the law, but because I have the righteousness that comes by way of Christ’s faithfulness – a righteousness from God that is in fact based on Christ’s faithfulness.—“This is where security can be found. Provide security for the one who is exhausted! This is where rest can be found.”
