“For I tell you the truth, whoever gives you a cup of water because you bear Christ’s name will never lose his reward.” A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied. For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints. Each will receive his reward according to his work.
“Then the righteous will answer him, ’Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or naked and clothe you? … And the king will answer them, ’As you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me. … ’Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”
