Daily Light [Morning]

“He knows the pathway that I take; if he tested me, I would come forth like gold.” [Job 23:10]

He knows what we are made of. He is not predisposed to afflict or to grieve people.

God’s solid foundation remains standing, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from evil.” Now in a wealthy home there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also ones made of wood and of clay, and some are for honorable use, but others for ignoble use. So if someone cleanses himself of such behavior, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart, useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

He will act like a refiner and purifier of silver and will cleanse the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer the Lord a proper offering. “I will refine them like silver is refined… They will call on my name and I will answer; I will say, ’These are my people,’ and they will say, ’The Lord is my God.’”

[Ps 103:14, Lam 3:33, 2 Tim 2:19-21, Mal 3:3, Zech 13:9]

Jesus Calling [Morning]

I AM PERPETUALLY WITH YOU, taking care of you. That is the most important fact of your existence. I am not limited by time or space; My Presence with you is a forever-promise. You need not fear the future, for I am already there. When you make that quantum leap into eternity, you will find Me awaiting you in heaven. Your future is in My hands; I release it to you day by day, moment by moment. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow.

I want you to live this day abundantly, seeing all there is to see, doing all there is to do. Don’t be distracted by future concerns. Leave them to Me! Each day of life is a glorious gift, but so few people know how to live within the confines of today. Much of their energy for abundant living spills over the timeline into tomorrow’s worries or past regrets. Their remaining energy is sufficient only for limping through the day, not for living it to the full. I am training you to keep your focus on My Presence in the present. This is how to receive abundant Life, which flows freely from My throne of grace.

Morning Devotional

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” [Joshua 1:9]

There are times in life that we feel alone, and that no one else can relate. Trials come our way and sometimes there is nothing anyone can do to help the situation. Read this part again: do not be afraid or discouraged. God brings seasons in life to sharpen you for your own good. God walks WITH you THROUGH this hardship. He is with you; gain your strength from Him.

Morning Prayer

[Matthew 5:11-12; Luke 6:22; 1 Thessalonians 4:8]

I pray that you will be able to stand firm in your faith and boldly speak of the knowledge of Christ. Although men may hate you or exclude you when you do this, know that God calls you blessed. I pray that you will withstand any persecution when people reject you as you speak His Word. May you pray for them, that they will open their eyes to see the truth clearly. I pray that you will not fear insults of men, and know that God has prepared a reward for you in heaven.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Strength Today

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

[Matt 5:8]

Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, for without it no one will see the Lord.

[Heb 12:14]

Since Thou Thyself dost still display

Unto the pure in heart,

Oh, make us children of the day

To know Thee as Thou art.

For Thou art light and life and love;

And Thy redeemed below

May see Thee as Thy saints above,

And know Thee as they know.

Doubt, gloom, impatience, have been expelled; joy has taken their place, the hope of heaven and the harmony of a pure heart, the triumph of self-mastery, sober thoughts, and a contented mind. How can charity towards all men fail to follow, being the mere affectionateness of innocence and peace? Thus the Spirit of God creates in us the simplicity and warmth of heart which children have, nay, rather the perfections of His heavenly hosts, high and low being joined together in His mysterious work; for what are implicit trust, ardent love, abiding purity, but the mind both of little children and of the adoring seraphim!

Eternal Perspectives

There will be nothing unclean around us. We will live in a world spiritually clean from the pollution of all sin. . . . No abortion clinics, no divorce courts, no brothels, no bankruptcy courts, no psychiatric wards, and no treatment centers. . . . No pornography, no dial-a-porn, no teen suicide . . . no drive-by shootings, no racial tensions, and no prejudice.

There will be no misunderstandings, no injustice, no depression, no hurtful words, no gossip, no hurt feelings, no worry, no emptiness, and no child abuse.

There will be no wars, no financial worries . . . no heart monitors, no rust, no perplexing questions, no false teachers, no financial shortages, no hurricanes, no bad habits, no decay, no locks.

We will never need to confess sin. Never need to apologize again. Never need to straighten out a strained relationship. Never have to resist Satan again. Never have to resist temptation. Never!

[Heaven Help Us!]

Evening Prayer

Father, You chose me [actually picked me out for Yourself as Your very own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that I should be holy (consecrated and set apart for You), blameless in Your sight, even above reproach, before You in love. In Jesus I have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of my offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of Your gracious favor.

Lord, I have received Your Son, Jesus; I believe in His name, and He has given me the right to become Your child. I acknowledge You, Lord, as my Father. Thank You for forgiving me and absolving me of all guilt. I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony.

In the name of Jesus, amen.
