“Do you now believe?”
John 16:31 NET
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith save him?… So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He had received the promises, yet he was ready to offer up his only son…. he reasoned that God could even raise him from the dead.—Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?… You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
The one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out – he will be blessed in what he does.
“You will recognize them by their fruit. ”Not everyone who says to me, ’Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven – only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.“—”If you understand these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”
